Togeth­er We Heal

Accord­ing to the Amer­i­can Foun­da­tion for Sui­cide Pre­ven­tion, sui­cide is the 10th lead­ing cause of death in the Unit­ed States and In the past year the pan­dem­ic has tak­en our every­day chal­lenges and put them under a mag­ni­fy­ing glass. This chal­lenge was cre­at­ed with the goal of push­ing our­selves to chal­lenge the stig­ma behind sui­cide and come togeth­er to heal our­selves and our community. 

For each task you com­plete dur­ing the 30 days, you will receive points! Each time you com­plete a task you gain those points. For exam­ple, if you get 8 hours of sleep every day for a week you can gain 175 (257 =175) points for that 25 point task. You can pick and choose which tasks work for you (you don’t have to do every­thing, just what works for your own life), you can choose to switch it up every week or keep your self-care prac­tices the same every week.

One of the tasks breaks down 48,000 steps in 4 weeks to rep­re­sent the 48,000 Amer­i­cans that die by sui­cide each year.

Each par­tic­i­pant will fill out their own log to track the amount of points they gain through­out the 30 days. You can use the track­er we pro­vide or track with your own device or jour­nal. At the end of the 30 day the logs will be sub­mit­ted through a Google form and the points will be counted.

The 3 par­tic­i­pants with the most points will receive a prize at our May 22nd Lights of Resilience” event!
