Drug Take Back

The Nation­al Pre­scrip­tion Drug Take Back Day aims to pro­vide a safe, con­ve­nient, and respon­si­ble means of dis­pos­ing of pre­scrip­tion drugs while also edu­cat­ing the gen­er­al pub­lic about the poten­tial for mis­use of medications. 

Ken­neth Young Cen­ter is part­ner­ing with the local com­mu­ni­ty dur­ing Drug Take Back Day to pro­vide resources for com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers. Vis­it select drop-off loca­tions to dis­pose of your unused medications. 


Drop Off Loca­tion Sites:

  • Pala­tine Police Depart­ment: North Hicks Place, 595 N Hicks Rd, Pala­tine, IL 60067
  • Hanover Park Police Depart­ment: 2011 W Lake St, Hanover Park, IL 60133
  • Elk Grove Vil­lage Police Depart­ment: 901 Welling­ton Ave, Elk Grove Vil­lage, IL 60007
  • Town­ship of Schaum­burg: 1 Illi­nois Boule­vard, Hoff­man Estates, IL 60169 Drop off your unused and expired pre­scrip­tion and non-pre­scrip­tion drugs in the con­tain­er on the south side of the Town­ship build­ing. This ser­vice is free and anony­mous. No liq­uids or syringes are accept­ed. Drugs should not be brought into the Town­ship building.

Please dis­pose of unwant­ed med­i­cines responsibly!

  • Don’t toss or flush
  • Don’t leave them lying around unattended.
  • Don’t throw them in the trash or down the sink. 
  • Don’t flush them down the toilet.

Remem­ber, unused or expired pre­scrip­tion drugs can lead to poi­son­ing, over­dose, and abuse.
