LGBTQ+ Center

COVID-19 Update: All in-person events require face coverings over the nose and mouth. We will also be checking temperatures at the door. Capacity is limited to 16 persons. Virtual event are held through Zoom. Please contact LGBTQCenter@kennethyoung.org with any questions.

KYC’s LGBTQ+ Youth and Young Adult Center is a safe space for youth and allies to learn about self-expression and identity, while building strong interpersonal connections with other LGBTQ+ youth (11−17) and young adults (18−24). Some individuals who attend activities are not out or able to express themselves in every area of their lives, so the Center gives them a safe place to be themselves.
With events throughout the month, our LGBTQ+ Center provides entertainment, educational opportunities, and social activities at our 650 E. Algonquin Road, Schaumburg Office. (Find us in Suite 104!) Teens and young adults can come to enjoy creative arts, movie or board game nights, yoga/meditation, community service activities, and more. These events provide learning opportunities about inclusive, positive, healthy behaviors, and opportunities to collaborate on leadership activities. Designed with the feedback provided by the LGBTQ+ therapeutic group that was conducted at Kenneth Young Center, the Center is focused on youth-led, youth-empowered programming.
