Psy­choso­cial Impacts of Dementia

Men­tal Health Pro­fes­sion­als, join KYC’s Pro­gram Train­ing Com­mit­tee for a vir­tu­al train­ing event on the psy­choso­cial impacts of dementia.

Daxa Sanghvi, MSW, will dis­cuss how demen­tia impacts an indi­vid­ual as well as their fam­i­ly. Men­tal health pro­fes­sion­als will learn strate­gies for effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion with a per­son with declin­ing mem­o­ry, and will bet­ter under­stand safe­ty con­cerns and emo­tion­al dis­tress expe­ri­enced by the fam­i­ly mem­bers of a per­son with dementia.
