Expres­sive Art Ther­a­py Training

Pre­sen­ter Melis­sa Hed­lund Nel­son, PhD, LCPC, ATR-BC, SEP, CADC will be hold­ing an Expres­sive Art Ther­a­py train­ing at Ken­neth Young Cen­ter’s Elk Grove Vil­lage office. 

Objec­tives for this train­ing will include:

1) Par­tic­i­pants will be able to define EXAT (Expres­sive Art Ther­a­py) and pro­vide 3 – 5 exam­ples of dif­fer­ent arts-based modal­i­ties under the umbrel­la of the EXATs.

2) Par­tic­i­pants will learn 2 – 3 cre­ative inter­ven­tions to uti­lize with indi­vid­u­als to help increase regulation.

3) Par­tic­i­pants will have an increased under­stand­ing of incor­po­rat­ing the expres­sive arts into clin­i­cal practice.
