Become a Mem­o­ry Café Sponsor

Mem­o­ry Cafés at Ken­neth Young Cen­ter (KYC) are stig­ma-free social events for peo­ple liv­ing in com­mu­ni­ty with a mem­o­ry and/​or cog­ni­tive impair­ment, and their infor­mal care­giv­er. Dis­eases that cause demen­tia often result in social iso­la­tion, stress, and depres­sion, both for the per­son liv­ing with demen­tia, and their care­giv­er. Our Cafés pro­vide a rare and unique space for peo­ple liv­ing with demen­tia and their care­givers to relax and enjoy one anoth­er; a time to con­nect with oth­ers who are expe­ri­enc­ing the same chal­lenges. The care­givers we serve are a mix­ture of spous­es car­ing for spous­es and adult chil­dren car­ing for a par­ent or oth­er relative.

Since 2022, we’ve seen a 657% increase in the num­ber of peo­ple we serve in our Mem­o­ry Cafes, while expe­ri­enc­ing a 67% decrease in funding.

Ken­neth Young Cen­ter seeks your sup­port, as a spon­sor – in whole or in part – to help to con­tin­ue offer­ing these twice-month­ly Cafés, in the for­mat that par­tic­i­pants have come to know and val­ue. The 24 – 36 par­tic­i­pants appre­ci­ate the space for con­nec­tion includ­ing a catered lunch fol­lowed by enter­tain­ment or activity.

As a spon­sor, your sup­port pro­vides par­tic­i­pants and guests with engag­ing enter­tain­ment and/​or a deli­cious meal.

For your sup­port, KYC staff will coor­di­nate with you to select the date of your spon­sor­ship. Please note that the Café sched­ule does not allow time for a ver­bal or visu­al presentation.
