Sup­port­ing Sur­vivors of Domes­tic Vio­lence in a Clin­i­cal Setting

Men­tal health pro­fes­sion­als are invit­ed to attend this vir­tu­al train­ing. Atten­dees will gain a foun­da­tion­al under­stand­ing of domes­tic vio­lence, includ­ing key con­cepts, rel­e­vant sta­tis­tics, and the effects of domes­tic vio­lence on chil­dren. You will be able to iden­ti­fy com­mon warn­ing signs and behav­ioral indi­ca­tors asso­ci­at­ed with domes­tic vio­lence for both adult and teen pop­u­la­tions. This train­ing will explore key clin­i­cal con­cepts and prac­tices when work­ing with adult and child sur­vivors of domes­tic vio­lence. The pre­sen­ters will high­light the role of domes­tic vio­lence agen­cies, with a spe­cif­ic focus on the work of WINGS.

Par­tic­i­pants will receive 3 CEUs for LPC / LCPC / LSW / LCSW / MFT / LMFT. Cam­eras must be on for the dura­tion of the train­ing to receive CEU credit.

    Director of Clinical Services at WINGS

    Megan Wiesner is a licensed clinical social worker, an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional, and a Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Professional. She received her BA in psychology and criminology from Marquette University in 2009 and her MSW with a specialization in children and families and an emphasis in mental health from Loyola University Chicago in 2013. Megan has in-home counseling experience working with children in specialized foster care placements as well as with seniors experiencing mental illness. Megan joined WINGS in 2012 as a clinical social work intern at the Suburban Safe House and has held various staff positions within the agency since. Megan is currently the Director of Clinical Services at WINGS, overseeing adult counseling services, intake line, and student internships at WINGS. In addition to her passion for working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence and/or trauma, Megan is also a dedicated parent to two adorable boys (4 and 2 years).

    Child Advocate at WINGS

    Stacy began working at WINGS in October 2023 as a Children’s Advocate. In her time with WINGS, Stacy has trained in Play Therapy, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotional Freedom Technique. Her passion is working with children and families in underserved communities while using her bilingual abilities to provide the very best for her clients.
