Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence in a Clinical Setting
Mental health professionals are invited to attend this virtual training. Attendees will gain a foundational understanding of domestic violence, including key concepts, relevant statistics, and the effects of domestic violence on children. You will be able to identify common warning signs and behavioral indicators associated with domestic violence for both adult and teen populations. This training will explore key clinical concepts and practices when working with adult and child survivors of domestic violence. The presenters will highlight the role of domestic violence agencies, with a specific focus on the work of WINGS.
Presenters Megan Wiesner, LCSW, CDVP, CPAIP has been the Director of Clinical Services at WINGS for 13 years and Stacy Ramirez, MA has been a Child Advocate at WINGS since October of 2023.

Participants will receive 3 CEUs for LPC / LCPC / LSW / LCSW / MFT / LMFT. Cameras must be on for the duration of the training to receive CEU credit.

- Megan Wiesner, LCSW, CDVP, CPAIP, Director of Clinical Services at WINGS
Megan Wiesner, LCSW, CDVP, CPAIP
Megan Wiesner is a licensed clinical social worker, an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional, and a Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Professional. She received her BA in psychology and criminology from Marquette University in 2009 and her MSW with a specialization in children and families and an emphasis in mental health from Loyola University Chicago in 2013. Megan has in-home counseling experience working with children in specialized foster care placements as well as with seniors experiencing mental illness. Megan joined WINGS in 2012 as a clinical social work intern at the Suburban Safe House and has held various staff positions within the agency since. Megan is currently the Director of Clinical Services at WINGS, overseeing adult counseling services, intake line, and student internships at WINGS. In addition to her passion for working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence and/or trauma, Megan is also a dedicated parent to two adorable boys (4 and 2 years).
- Stacy Ramirez, MA, Child Advocate at WINGS
Stacy Ramirez, MA
Stacy began working at WINGS in October 2023 as a Children’s Advocate. In her time with WINGS, Stacy has trained in Play Therapy, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotional Freedom Technique. Her passion is working with children and families in underserved communities while using her bilingual abilities to provide the very best for her clients.
