NASHI’s OBISSS

1:00pm‑2:00pm

When a brain injury goes unidentified, individuals may experience difficulty following instructions, memory challenges, impulsivity, slowed information processing, and challenges with emotional regulation. These impacts can be misunderstood as lack of motivation for change rather than recognized as neurological effects. Identifying and addressing the impacts of brain injury can improve outcomes and support more effective and individualized treatment planning.

Developed by the National Association of State Head Injury Administrators (NASHIA), the Online Brain Injury Screening and Support System (OBISSS) is available at no cost. This tool offers a standardized, validated, and accessible approach to identifying individuals who may have experienced a brain injury. OBISSS also provides practical compensatory strategies, supports, and resources to promote success.
