We believe education gives people the knowledge, skills and personal resources to maintain their optimum level of mental health and deal with problems as they arise.
KYC's educational offerings include:
- The InTouch Program to coordinate and promote substance abuse prevention efforts with direct service providers in the northwest Cook County area.
- Presentations to businesses, schools and community groups on a variety of topics including conflict resolution, communication skills, managing change, parenting skills, building self confidence, and more.
- Programs at KYC on timely mental health topics.
- Group therapy and educational groups to address personal and relationship concerns.
Issues that can be dealt with effectively in a group setting include relationship issues,
men's or women's issues, parenting skills, depression, fears and anxiety, eating disorders,
divorce, coping with unemployment, surviving sexual abuse, challenges of aging, caregiver issues.
